A Party? What To Wear?

My husband and I were invited to a party the other day. Alas, it was a textile party. So the question that had to be asked was, "What should I wear?" Oh, the joy of partying with nudists is that you don't have to worrying about wearing anything. But in the textile world there is the concern about what top to wear with it being cold outside but warm inside. Which pants will I fit in since I've gained a few pounds. Should I wear heels or boots? No matter what I wear, I'm uncomfortable and can't wait until I can get my clothes off, especially my scratchy and constricting unmentionables. This leads me to my preference of parties thrown by nudists.

I have been to several nudist parties. Most of them are theme parties. Then the question still remains, "What should I wear?" Followed by the wonderment of why there should be a concern about what to wear to a nudist party. Strangely however, many nudists love to dress up for parties. The difference is usually the extent to which they will dress up. Men and women alike seem to enjoy the art of wearing a costume that still allows for certain body parts to remain unconstrained and unhidden. On many occassions party goers will wear lingerie that is completely unrelated to the night's theme. For myself, I still prefer to wear just my birthday suit. The rule of thumb at a nudist party is less is more and whatever you decide to wear or not wear, all are welcome and everyone is merry.

  1. It's true, nudist do seem to love to dress up, sort of, at parties. And it's usually a bit on the risque side too, especially the ladies.

Perhaps it's because that nudists, in order to adhere to the non-sexual aspects of naturism, tend to be quite prudish as far as behavior is concerned. There's far more 'affection' displayed at a textile beach than at regular nudist venues.

So when party time arrives, it's an opportunity to be a bit frisky and play with the sexy side of our natures. Without the boundries of textile restraint, a whole lot of skin can be displayed!

As nudists we aren't nearly as obsessed about physical beauty as Textiles are, but that doesn't mean that we don't appreciate it. Women in particular love to be seen as attractive and it's natural for them to adorn their bodies to amplify the effect. And it's fun!

  2. I have been to a few nudist parties and you are right they do tend to enjoy dressing up or down. The outfits are a bit outrageous. I went to a Halloween party one year in nothing but a mask and body paint and a cape. I guess we like to go beyond the normal. Now though I think less is more. I wouldn't recommend body paint to a nudist party, can't go in the hot tub!

  3. You're right gentlemen, people have no idea just how prudish we nudists are. I think it's a bit of overcompensation for the fact that we are naked and want to keep sex separate, but boy do nudists know how to let their hair down when they put some clothes on.

  4. Sorry but I disagree. Dressing up is the last thing on my mind. I don't even enjoy wearing watches and rings. I have a feeling that some of the people you talk about just like to be naked part time and are not true nudists. In fact, people wearing some clothes but leaving other parts exposed is one of the criticisms of our lifestyle.

  6. Anonymous, I too prefer not to wear anything but each to his/her own. I don't necessarily think that because someone wears a costume for a party, they are only part-time nudists or not really nudists at all. Especially, when a lot of the people I see are living the nudist lifestyle full time. As for myself, I am a part-time nudist. They don't allow me to work naked, so I must don clothing during the week and around my neighborhood, since I don't live in a nudist community. Poor me. Having a choice I would be completely nude with nothing but my wedding ring, except for when it's cold and I need to take cover. All the best. BB
